Sitka Spruce - Picea sitchensis

This native conifer grows approximately 2' per year. Trees are very cold tolerant and also very deer resistant, unlike some of the other native conifer trees. Large specimens can be found in Oregon, some close to 300' tall. 

It has an exceptional strength to weight ratio and is great for lightweight and durable needs.
